Dan's Scones

We had these delectable treats at a friend's house a few days ago and I could have eaten the whole plate of them! I forgot how divine scones are, straight from the hot pan of oil, smothered in honey and butter....Mmmmmm!

In medium bowl:
1 T yeast
1/2 C warm water
1 T sugar

In large bowl:
2 C warm water
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C oil
2 t salt
3 C flour (will need 8 C total)

Add one egg and yeast mixture

Slowly add remaining flour. When dough becomes very stiff, use hands. Combine and knead until dough becomes soft and smooth. Remove dough. Spray bowl and top of dough with Pam. Place in sink of warm water to rise. Shape into patties, fry in oil, drain and eat!

Oooh, which soup? Your French onion? That is one recipe that you MUST post. I still have dreams of it ever since we had it in Bodega way back when...

That French onion soup recipe is in the ward cook book I gave you-But I made chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles for this get together a few nights ago and I really enjoyed it! I love homemade noodles! I put a little wheat flour in them for good measure and I think I'd do that again!

I made these!! So good. I could live off of scones. The dough can keep for a few days in the fridge, it's great!
